Progress Lead Year 9 – Mr Greenall
My role in school is to provide pastoral support for Year 9 along with monitoring behaviour and progress. Our aim is to ensure that school is a safe space for all students to learn and achieve to the best of their ability.
In Year 9, our focus is on the transition to KS 4 and the options process is part of this. We support the Year 9s with this process and allow them to choose the subjects which they need to support them in their career in the future. Year 9 will have a meeting with a Careers Advisor who will provide advice and guidance relating to different career paths.
The graduation programme is a large part of Year 9 and is an opportunity for the students to celebrate their academic achievements but also to highlight the next step in their education and life journey. The students are awarded a pass, merit or distinction for their efforts in completing the tasks which form the careers programme along with attendance and behaviour. The graduates will also be able to experience their first graduation ceremony in full gowns and caps which are provided by the school.
