Key Stage 3 Graduation

Asset 41
Graduation Booklet

As a school we are delighted run a ‘Key Stage 3 Graduation Programme’ for year 9, which results in a graduation ceremony towards the end of the final term of year 9.

The aim of the graduation is to give Key Stage 3 its own identity and to encourage our students to become exceptional by the end of their first three years at Team Millfield. It is an opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge students’ achievements in their first three years, but also to mark the next step in their educational journey. As students move into Key Stage 4 they need to be able to work independently and demonstrate maturity towards their studies. The graduation programme helps them prepare for this.

At Team Millfield we encourage parents / carers to look at the graduation booklets on our website with your child and encourage them in their endeavours. Students will be awarded a Pass, Merit, or Distinction for their achievements, based upon their work ethic, attendance, behaviour, subject/task challenges and attendance to extracurricular activities. A scoring system is awarded out of 12. Attendance is based on in-school sessions. Authorised absences are included in the attendance score as students are not in class.

The special Graduation Ceremony is celebrated in full academic dress: graduation gowns and caps. All parents are invited to share in the celebrations at the graduation ceremony. We look forward to working in partnership with your son/daughter and yourself to achieve their full potential.
